Aurora
Aurora is a 20lb reconnaissance robot system for use in firefighting, police, explosive-ordinance disposal, counter-terrorism and other reconnaissance applications. The system is being developed with funding from the U.S. Government. The system is unique in that it incorporates a steerable and pitchable mono-tread locomotor. Aurora is highly flexible and can climb over obstacles such as ditches, curbs, and steps. Aurora received a “Design News” Design Excellence Award in January, 2002. Several U.S. and international patents have been issued for the unique technology embedded in Aurora.
